Apply to Colorado Mesa University
If you are a veteran or active duty service member, put in the promo code CMUBOUND so you do not have to pay the application fee.

Apply online for your VA education benefits
Click here to view the "Which VA Education Benefits do you qualify for?" page and select the appropriate category to view your application options. Includes Transfer/Returning students

Applying for COF (Colorado Opportunity Fund)
State funding that is directly applied to your tuition. This is a requirement prior to receiving VA benefits.

Apply for FAFSA
FAFSA does not affect your VA education benefits. You will also receive a College Financial Plan from Financial Aid. Applying for FAFSA will determine your eligibility for The CMU Promise.

Prior College and Military Transcripts
The VA requires that your military credits be evaluated if using VA education benefits.

Transcript for all branches other than Air force
Army, Navy, Marine Corps & Coast Guard Veterans, click here to be forwarded to the JST website. Request official Joint Service Transcripts to be sent to Colorado Mesa University.

Air Force Veterans, request your official transcripts to be sent to Colorado Mesa University.

Register for Classes
Click here to see when registration opens and register for classes. Contact an academic advisor for assistance with schedule building. You may also make an advising appointment with Veteran Services.

Submit Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and DD-214 to CMU
Click here to attach the Certificate of Eligibility (COE). First time Chapter 31 and 33 students should also attach the DD-214 Member 2 or 4. Dependents using VA benefits: We do NOT need the Veteran's DD-214.

Veteran’s Enrollment Certification Request (VECR)
AFTER you register for classes, you must submit a VECR, this step is mandatory if you want your VA education benefits. This form must be completed EVERY semester, preferably 30 days before the first day of school.
